I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Frank

Years ago a friend of mine rented one of only two houses on a private lake.  That lake was bought by the state and made public allowing me to fish it again after ten years.  I was worried that due to it's very small size it would be decimated after only a season or two.  I made some phone calls and wrote some letters thanks to advice from Dan.  It turns out that people actually listen.  Starting April 1st it will be catch and release only due to special regulations.  Now, for the first time in my life I have a real chance at some record sized fish.  Last year in three trips, all short, we managed a couple of 6's, a 7.5, and lost two that would have went 8+.  The biggest fish I have ever seen in person came out of there 15 years ago and was 10.5.  It's gonna be a good summer I do believe.

Big dreams

Glad to hear that Frank. We have 11,000 lakes. It's okay to protect a few small, special ones with trophy regulations. Now I have to remember where you told me it was and wonder when we're going fishing!?! ;D

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

Thanks Dan for bringing year round Catch and Release to Michigan

This is just more proof that one person CAN make a difference.

I don't think you can actually legally start bass fishing though until the last Saturday in April like the rest of the state but it does say all species are now catch and release. Hopefully, that keeps it a special fishing lake along with the limited access. Good job Frank!
