I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Great Lakes Board,

As you can see this is my first post...I live in central Illinois and have been fishing the Washington Island area of Green bay / Lake Michigan in October as a yearly trip, but this year I will be heading to the Burt / Mullett area Oct. 15 - 17th...

I have been watching the You Tube video's and can't wait to get up the Northern Michigan!

Any suggested areas to try?  Should I give each lake 1 day and leave the 3rd day to whichever lake produces better?  How long does it take to idle through the river?

Thanks board and I look forward to any assistance.

BTW: I will be staying at Brentwood Lodge

Thanks
Blue Devil

I would go with what you asked. Quite often one lake is producing a little better or easier than the other. I'm biased because me and Mullett get along better but Burt has really big bass in it.

Team houston

I believe it takes about a half hour to get from one to the other, idling the river. anybody want to be more exact?

bassfan586

45-50 min burt to mullett.  Mullett to burt a little faster as you are riding with current.  No wake.  They enforce it.
Got one!

Its the opposite the current in the Indian River flows from Burt to Mullett.
FISH HARD!!!

djkimmel

Don't they still have the no high speed boating sections where you can wake but not plane?

If any of you Burt / Mullett veterans are on these lakes  15th - 17th and see a Red/Black Triton 21 stop over and give me a shout.

With the relatively high west winds forecasted for the next few days which lake Burt or Mullett would have the most available bass fishing areas?

At this point I have taken time off work and am committed to coming up regardless of the weather.

If it blows hard, stay with the rivers.

djkimmel

Mullett has a better west shore more often. Don't go to Munro Lake. Weird but there are other places to launch and fish.

Good luck with that wind! My god was it blowing and raining sideways yesterday. We finally said screw it after trying to fish in that crap and cut our trip short two days with it forecasted to get worse today and still bad sunday. Even the drive home was a pain it was a struggle to stay on the road. A real bummer because we got there midday Thursday and found some schools of 4-6 pounders that were absolutely blasting our topwater baits. If only the weather would have held off we would of had an amazing trip. Oh well you win some and you lose some.
FISH HARD!!!

Short trips are always tough in the fall in Northern Michigan.

Wind / rain was brutal!! Caught only 1 Smallie and a muskie..going to try a smaller lake tomorrow..

djkimmel

All these years up there, I've seen muskie. Had them even follow my lures a few times, but never caught one. You must be good!!! Good luck tomorrow. Sorry about the weather.

Maybe try Tomahawk Creek Flooding? Just some old school largemouth fishing.

djkimmel

Pretty good for this weather.
