I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

fiker

haven't fished it in a couple of years.

It's basically a bowl. Very shallow and a long ways to the deep part.  Launch was dirt and poor that last time I launched there.

There are a lot of guys that fish tip ups for pike, and go for crappie through the ice out there.

I don't know if I've ever caught a Bass there, but pike and crappie are fun.

Note:  I ran into a guy that told me he used to ice fish there a lot.  And then,  vandals started breaking into vehicles and he said it wasn't worth it.  It's hard to believe between Dexter and Chelsea but that's what he told me.

It is true though that the launch can't be seen from the pavement, the area has no attendant on duty,  there aren't any houses real close, and if you saw someone breaking into your vehicle, you'd never get there in time to stop them.

Put it this way, I live about 4 miles from there, and I'd rather fish either North Lake, or South Lake that are a little farther away.
Now those two lakes do have Bass, I've seen em.
So much water.  So many lures.  So little time.

That lake is sweet!! one of the lakes I used to fish when I first started getting into bass fishing. you can catch pike just about anywhere the lake is over run with them. I've never been out there this time of year before and have only been there once in the last 5 years since the launch is usually to shallow for my boat. I had planned to make a trip out there sometime this summer in my dads boat but there were to many tournaments going on.

If you want to catch pike just go straight out into the deeper hole and start throwing a spinnerbait at some of the weed beds you will probably catch some nice bass to...and there are always some big fish in the smaller lake. If you go straight to the other end of the lake there is a channel that takes you into a smaller lake which is always good and might make it a little easier to figure it out quickly. Be careful running out there though as is a lot of shallow water and reed beds, and Fiker is right definitely about the break ins I've heard of that out there to.

Good luck let us know how you do!

Also remember this is one of the best duck hunting lakes around, and it opens week after next.  It is hunted hard and long, and they don't take kindly to fisherman being in their deks.  But fishstick and fiker are correct.  It is a great lake to fish but bad place to park.
