Lake Orion 10/04/09

Decided to try Orion today for a few hours.  I have a hard time with that lake with the weeds.(mostly mental)  After fishing white lake in the dk open a few weeks ago I thought I would use the same baits.(Due to all the weeds there)  Fished the break in 14-18 fow.  The keys were easy access to deep water and green weeds.  On a pt was a plus.  A lot of the weeeds in the lake are starting to die and brown up.  I tried swimbaits fished slow and fast and spinnerbaits without luck.  Tie on a football jig with a trailer and wack em.  Hot colors were Black and blue jig w/ blue zoom super chunk and green pumpkin /black scale skirt with strike king watermelon chunk trailer.  Two biggest were 4-8 and 4-4.  I thought I had a pike with the one.  Water temp was 56 and clear.
