Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

Alton Jones DQ'd for breaking same rule as KVD did during practice period.  Lesson not learned?  I think he was near the top after day 1.

Ouch! He was in 2nd place with over 35 pounds!

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

That one really hurts...i wonder who turned him in now?? I also read on Bassfan how Tim Horton got DQ'd in '05 for having an observer hold a bush while he positioned the boat.

So now my question is:? at the Classic while I was riding with <*****>, I released a fish for him....would that constitute disqualification??

-The name of the angler has been removed to protect his participation in 2006 Lake Toho Classic... ;D

It's getting rediculous with BASS.  I understand rules are rules, but come on.  They're really shooting themselves in the foot here.  Maybe some pro will read Blake's post and decide to have Jay Yelas' catch from '05 stricken from the record books.  Geez.  They're really making themselves look silly IMO.

Looks like Jones was fishing with his son when the rule(s) were broken that led to the DQ.  I used to think that the BASS tournaments were a better true test of skill at the "tour" level because of limited practice (unlike FLW).  But, this looks like it may turn into a real mess!

From Bassmaster.com:

According to Jones, his disqualification involved his son, Alton Jones Jr., rather than a co-angler partner.

"I knew that I had not done the same thing that Kevin (VanDam) had done," Jones said. "But what I had done, is I drove the boat while Little Alton stood on the front deck and looked for fish. I was in complete control of the boat.

"In (Bassmaster's) interpretation of the rules that's considered getting assistance from someone who was not a competitor."

Sounds like someone with some bass tournament fishing experience needs to be running things.  These rules as well as enforcement are just ridiculous.  If this is how they run their top tour, I can't wait to see the new wolverine divsion this summer.

As long as it doesn't get to the point where I need a lawyer as a fishing partner at all times just to figure things out... any of you ever fish with a lawyer? ;D
