The poorly written, damaging to Michigan Sport Fishing commercial fishing bills have been introduced again. State House Bills 5801 and 5802, introduced by Rep. Dave Prestin and Rep. Jason Morgan, have been assigned to the House Committee on Natural Resources and Tourism.

This is a tale of two lakes. Intertwined lakes, in Barry County, Michigan. Where somehow the water has gone away. Upper and Lower Crooked Lakes, both near and dear to me, are suffering from the lowest water levels I've seen in the 35+ years I've been fishing them.

What's with the news these days on the TV and the radio. Can't find the truth amongst the lies. Some talking head that claims to live their life in a better way, says I have to compromise. But now there's something on the rise. Truth has opened up my eyes. There's no running from your dirty lies. You can't avoid the truth. I'll no longer close my eyes.

You order the rods online or by phone. All rods are shipped in a tube by FedEx insured.
$25.00 is the shipping cost for one rod. But if you by two or three it is most likely no more than $28.00 which can help defer the cost. The most I can do is recommend the correct rod for the application you wish to use it for. Get some friends together and purchase at the same time under your discount.

Just for the record I checked out other sites shipping costs and methods. A major retail outlet, one of the cheapest, charges 12.95 standard shipping plus there is an item note attached to the order that reads "All 1-piece rods or rod sections 6' and over in length, require an additional $6 shipping charge. Rods ship in their own package separate from other merchandise."

This amounts to 18.95 shipping cost per rod. Everytime you add a rod it adds 6.00 to the order. Add Fed Ex insured shipping in a PVC tube and 25.00 shipping is a fair price.
Now put a few more rods in that tube with little additional cost and you have a bargain.
The size of the package makes shipping a challenge. You should see what a 10'-12' rod costs to ship.

I wouldn't know about what [REMOVED - see No Links Policy List] is making on an import rod. :-[
I do know however that they do not sponor GLB or offer any GLB discounts on American made fishing rods. ;D
Happy to help in any way that I can. ;)

Buying Grandt rods at the shows in the spring gets you the special pricing and no shipping. Grandt was at the Novi show this year, but could not make the Grand Rapids show unfortunately. MadWags has tried to help out with other opportunities and I appreciate that.

As always, I ask that you consider the companies that support this web site as much as you possibly can, and I thank anyone who finds they are able to purchase those products. Grandt Rods has a great Made in the USA product that I know any of you that do end up purchasing, you'll be happy.

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.
