Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

Just before the October Natural Resources Committee meeting on Thursday, October 9, Commissioner John Walters added an amendment to Fisheries Order 206 – “Bass - Closed bass CIR season from May 1 – Friday before the third Saturday in June for Burt, Mullet, Crooked, Pickerel, and Black Lakes and their connecting waters.”

I'm looking forward to throwing more weightless baits(plastics)and having the patience to let them sink,I'm looking forward to throwing a wacky worm,to working my cranks over and on the edges of weed beds,throwing my kalins grubs,arkie grubs and my newly purchased snack daddy tubes after all they told me they were better than any other tube  ;D and to try ouy my gloomis bronzeback rod with a shimano stradic reel.I'm pumped the ice is almost all off the lakes I want to go out this weekend but still have things to do around the house and to my boat and trailer :(

I am just looking forward to wetting a line.  Felt good to fish the golf course pond today.  I am going to get my boat wet by April 2.  I have some new rods, new reels, and some new lures to try.  Not to mention a new fishfinder and new trolling motor.  I am so excited.................
