I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Went out today with a heck of a guy (Dan) and we started out working South of 9 Mile and worked South down toward the river.  EPIC FAIL.  >:(  I took us to a wreck that normally produces this time of year, some rocky areas where I caught them recently...NOTHING.  So we decided to work North from 12 Mile up out a little deeper.  Almost immediately we started catching them.  We had a couple double headers today and most of the Smallmouth were decent size.  It was a mixed back with some small ones, a bunch of rockies, a perch, and a big ugly Sheep.  We managed several in the upper 3lbs and 4lbs.  We're guessing we would have ended up with somewhere close to 20 lbs for our best 5.

I learned something new today...the Ned Rig.  So apparently it's a "deal" so I'm really glad I got to try it out because YES, it is quite a deal.  This was the dominate presentation for us today.  My partner was whacking the heck out of em, so I was all too happy to accept his offer of one to tie on.  And yep...they work.  The best technique was to look for beds in about 12 FOW.  We were often deeper and farther out than the flotilla and I believe we were doing a bit better.  My partner Dan figured out to look for a stalk of cabbage and beside many of them were beds.  I had a hard time seeing the short cabbage but once the lake calmed down a bit, it got easier to see the overturned shells and beds.  There are lots of bedding bass in that deeper water.

I'd recommend getting out to the 12' stuff from the 400 club on down through the Memorial Park area and down toward 11 Mile.  Clear water was critical today.  I think that's why the 9' stuff that was so productive on Saturday wasn't really working.  The water was pretty stained in closer.  So find clear water and start looking for those light spots.

Go get em.
