I just saw this on another site....Do you think LSC is capable of producing one this big??? I know they caught one over 8 out of Charlevoix last year during a BASS tourney..
I think we could see one over 9 if things keep going in a positive direction..Wasn't Randy Vandams smallie out of Ohio/Erie over 11 lbs???

The one on Lake Charlevoix was just under 8.5 pounds!! The one from Burt/Mullett 3 falls ago was 8-2!! Not sure if we'll see 9, but there has to be some out there swimming very close to the state record size of 9-4 somewhere up north.

Dan, Why do you think "Up North" is where the next state record could come from??? Less fishing pressure??? Deeper cleaner Water???  I haven't heard of one over 8 caught out of LSC or the rivers...

Less pressured. The bass are still not quite peaked up there, and I believe they are growing big faster than many would think up on some of those waters right now too as they do on St. Clair. I think their existence is less stressed up north than it is down south so they may be a little more likely to live longer.

Not a lot of definite odds necessarily, but slightly better odds I think. There have been bass caught approachin 7 1/2 on St. Clair and Erie lately, but there seems to be a big difference between each pound once they get over 6 and I do know of several 8 plus caught up north lately.

That's the one. I've also done it several times with jerkbaits and others. RVD did it with a jigging spoon which just shows you how talented he also is at fishing.

I ran into a fella @ the FLW Tour Final Day weigh in last year that had a 8.2 LB Smallie he caught out of the St. Clair River. He actually had a picture T-shirt of it on the fish was a Freak!

It's possible one over 9 would come out of the upper St Clair River because they are growing so fat on some great forage... Since there've been 7 pounders caught a number of times the past 3 or 4 years, they may have not topped out yet?
