The poorly written, damaging to Michigan Sport Fishing commercial fishing bills have been introduced again. State House Bills 5801 and 5802, introduced by Rep. Dave Prestin and Rep. Jason Morgan, have been assigned to the House Committee on Natural Resources and Tourism.

This is a tale of two lakes. Intertwined lakes, in Barry County, Michigan. Where somehow the water has gone away. Upper and Lower Crooked Lakes, both near and dear to me, are suffering from the lowest water levels I've seen in the 35+ years I've been fishing them.

When I glanced at the thread title I thought I had a new spammer... ;D

What about putting the 'nipples' up on the top of the bait - have you tried that at all? Not sure it would even work right maybe but it might have a different action...

Have you used the rig that way enough to see how well the weights stay in? I wonder if instead of clipping the whole tag end off you bend it over real sharp and then clip off the excess so you have a little bit of a 90% bend 'barb' in it?

I've been mostly swimming my small swimbaits with a jighead but there are times when I would like a weedless setup. I've done it more with larger swimbaits with a big weedless hook and I use hooks that are already weighted when I want some weight. I'll have to see how the action differs I guess.

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

Big fan of glueing them in place when I fish it. Never tried the weights on top might have to see what that looks like.hmmmm
