Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

Bob and I found ourselves bathed in 72 degree clear skies when we arrived at Crocker. For a weekday there was light traffic on the miles roads and a few boats at the blue/purple wall. We start at some rock pilings in 5-6 fow with blades and rattletraps. Our first fish(es) of the year was a double ! But we saw light action in the murky waters. We only had 4 hours to fish so we went south. The water cleaned up nearly immediately after 10 mile. Light traffic at 10 and 9 mile, and after Bob got his Ford cove Largie we went south. Everywhere we stopped, as long as we had rocky bottom, we caught fish. Bob was just wearing em out with his (bait revealed in members only), and I caught enough the I actually went almost 2 hours before I changed baits. A miracle !! Extreme Bass Tackle (Members only for colors) Tubes, Nemesis DS Gobies and 1/4 oz. ball head (Members only) were seductive to them girls. (I caught a tank on a Nemesis 3"  ______ Goby. Sorry - I'm under orders not to say the name - by the PourBoy Master himself BMc). Traps and jerk baits. Just kept em' near the bottom.

What really made my day was the jerk bait bite. Air temps came up near 80F and I was experimenting with a new
Lews reel / Razr Rod combo. Its nice when things come together.

This is a med hvy C10, 10 lb floro, 100 DD luckycraft. I was 6 inches off the bottom and bumping stuff. The Lews reel cast a country mile and I chose to put an 8.1:1 MB so that I could whip up 90% of the slack ASAP on the pause. Just make sure you count out loud so you don't go too fast lol. Anyway, I saw the line jump on the pause and brought in a nice 5 lbr. My favorite bite and it's fun when things come together.

We found our last area back up North along some walls - Largemouth heaven. Bob doinked another Largie tank like on his 3rd cast, and I nailed one on my last cast with the Nemesis Goby. Gotta love ...... the famous ....... Last Cast.
Thanks Dan for bringing year round Catch and Release to Michigan
