Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

Is the April Meeting still going to happen?

If so, when and where?

Thanks for the prod - the general membership meeting that each club needs to send a rep to, and all interested parties are welcome to attend is:

CORRECTION: Sunday, April 15, 2007 at NOON in The Lodge meeting room at the Gander Mountain in Novi - off Novi Rd across from Twelve Oaks Mall.[/b]

Right now, that is the cutoff to be a member eligible for the 2007 state championship too. That may change, but it may not. Depends o discussion and a vote maybe at the meeting. The board will be meeting prior to the general meeting to be prepared.

I'll be updating the web site very soon (tomorrow or Thursday night) about the meeting and place, and also send out notices to club reps. We should be announcing youth event details there too for the 2007 state youth championship.

So far it is the opposite. There is a new club in Flint starting up - actually a reincarnation of an old club - that needs boaters. They are not a paper club.

I don't think I have a phone number handy, but several of them work in the fishing department at Gander Mountain Flint - Dan Brown will probably be the president - Buick City Bassmasters.
