Heading over to ST Clair for a day trip this coming Sat. I have never fished this early before for the smallies so I'm hoping for a fun trip. I usually launch out of metro and have launched out of 9 mile once, that's a long walk. Is the launch at 11 mile public? If so whats the fee to launch there and what time do they open? ANy other tips are welcome as well. I plan on starting throwing rattle traps and jerk baits.

There is a launch at both 10 Mile, (Blossom Heath) and one at 11 mile, (the library).  The Library opens at 6 on weekends.  The fee at both places is $10.

If you have a recreational passport on your license you can launch at Crocker and Jefferson for free.  If not there is a daily fee.  ($6?)

I do know though that there is a club launching early at the Library on the 11th and they have about 10 boats so it may be crowded.

So much water.  So many lures.  So little time.
