Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

Went out to LSC with Revtro today for the C&R opener. This was only my 4th time out on LSC so I'm a little fuzzy on locations and stuff, but we launched from 11 mile. We got on the water around 6:45am. Water clarity was expectedly muddy. Visibility was only a few inches when we started. Revtro started dragging a greenish tube and got one quick off the bat then nothing for a while so headed south towards 9 mile. Nothing there so we headed back. Stopped after a half a mile and tried again with no success.

Turns out UAWBigDog was on the water today and he let us know he was catching a few back where we started so we headed back. Sitting in 7.5-8.5 feet of water dragging tubes and we started getting some bites. Revtro caught a couple then I caught a couple. My first bass on a tube so that was pretty cool. Second bass on a tube was maybe 3-4 pounds, 20", and FAT. Water was a little clearer around 9:30. Maybe a foot and a half. We kept going with the wind dragging tubes and drop shot around 11 mile the rest of the morning. I broke off a decent one on drop shot and Revtro lost a big one on a tube. The fish weren't really aggressive in the morning, but solid hits nonetheless. Fishing tapered off around 11:30.

All in all, a great day on the water. Big thanks again to Revtro for the invite out. Thanks to BD for the heads up on the bite. Looking forward to more days on LSC and more learning.

Those bass are not missing many meals! ;D

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

Here is my report from the weekend. Launched out of the Crocker ramp Saturday morning at 6:30. Ran down between 11/12 mile (right in front of what appears to be a small apartment complex. Caught one on a swimbait right away about 3.5lbs. Worked the area a bit before we picked up another on a drop shot. After that we picked up a few here and there until around 10:30 when I picked up a trap and really started whacking em.  For the day the three of us ended up with 65 fish. The two biggest were a 5.6 and 4.6. Most of the others averaged 2.5-3lbs.

Sunday we went back to that spot and caught a few there. Our buddy was fishing by Masonic and called us he was catching them there. Went there and absolutely destroyed they for the next two hours. It was the typical spring bite at St Clair catching them on every cast a times. Most came out of 4.5-5.5 FOW. Great weekend.
