Seems like the column of the month on other sites is  " Anti Alabama Rig " .  I find it interesting that it is banned in the Elite series but the same pro's can use it in the opens.   Even a local pro turned journalist has written a column against it's use.  I have some and have used them fun fishing but have never used it in a tournament.   To me it is a tool that is available and if within the rules.  I see no reason not to use it.    Paul Elias the first major tournament winner has now weighed in on with his thoughts.
Got me to thinking has a Michigan tournament ever been won using the rig.

I don't really understand the 'anti' movement either other than maybe people don't want to buy more lures, or just good ole fear of change?

I think they are fun to use. I think I have heard of a few instances where people in Michigan tournaments mentioned catching some of their bass on them. They must have finished high because I think it was mentioned as helping them win or finish high. Not too many mentions though, but some people are using them.

Some of the anglers who get on a new lure don't like to talk about them... keep it a secret!!! ;D

Caught this one on a the A-Rig recently.  It as in Missouri, but it was the bait of choice down there and was responsible for Ed Dyer and I winning the 2 day tournament we were in (and big bass!).  Needless to say, I love the Alabama Rig!

I feel that if you want to buy the A-Rig and use it, that is your right to do so. I put the A-Rig in the same category as Jimmy Hustons  camouflage combo. If you want it, buy it! Dose it catch more fish?

djkimmel

Apparently, used at the right times, it is pretty good at catching more bass and bigger bass.
