eagle status gps/fishfinder

i have recently had a problem with my eagle stutus gps, for some reason the screen is acting up, when i try and switch it on the back light comes on as normal but the display is completly black or it comes up with vertical lines then if you release the power button it just goes off again lowrence who have taken over say they dont even have the equipment to test the device as it is 10 years old, can anyone help?

Sounds like you just wore it out and its time to purchase a new one.  Usually when displays go dark as yours has, it is the whole display itself.  It will cost you as much to repair that as it would to replace the whole unit.  I work in the electronics industry and that's usually the norm.
