Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Every fall in late October or early November, my buddy and I like to take a short trip for a two day "end of the season" bass fishing trip.  I am looking for any suggestions you might have as to what might be a good place for us to go.  We live in suburban Detroit, and would like to drive no more then 2 - 2 1/2 hours.  Also, we bring the wives with us on this one, so it needs to be near something that they can go do...like shop.  My buddies wife is a fan of the Grand Rapids area, but I am striking out on finding a decent inland lake with convenient lodging near by, or ideally a lake front cabin rental.  Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

vrbo.com has tons of lakefront rentals. And around that time of year they are pretty cheap. You can narrow your search by area or lakefront or whatever your looking for. I've used it alot. Only one i can recommend is Near Cadillac and is about 3 hrs tops. It is awesome for pike and decent for bass. Also good for walleye and crappie The  rest are further north

I have stayed at this place over on White Lake a few times.  Nice old-school place, there is a boat ramp right beside it and White is a blast to fish.

@Seth. Is there boat docks or do you just launch your boat when you want? Also what kind of fishing did you do? I noticed this lake opened up to Lake Michigan. Probably good for smallmouth. Did you go around this time of year?
