I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Fix for Lowrance glitch

I bought the LMS-334 iGPS this spring and have been very pleased with its performance, especially for the price.

I have been using it quite regularly and have had no problems... that is until I turned it on last Saturday for tournament on Wixom Lake and my sonar was gone.
I pushed the "PAGES" button and the "sonar" tab was gone.

The only place I could find the sonar was on the "NAVIGATION" tab. Therefore I knew that my sonar was still intact.

After a long spell of waiting on hold with Lowarance, I finally got to talk to technical support.

I told her of my problem and she mentioned that she was aware of it, and that it was a "software glitch"

Here's the fix, although I have not gone home to try it.

1st - Power off the unit if it isn't already.

2nd - hold down the "PAGES" button

3rd - WHile holding the "PAGES" button down, hold the "PWR" button down

4th - continue holding them both down until the unit powers up and then release the buttons.

She said that this will bring the sonar tab back onto the screen.

She also mentioned that she has never heard of anybody having to "reset" this more than once.

Hopefully this will keep anybody from having to remove their unit and send it in.

I will report back once I have tried it on mine.

I do not have a list of units that have this problem.

If you want, I can take the boat out tomorrow while you are at work and test it for you.

That is how you do a complete reset on many of the Lowrance units. They always seem to have several undocumented tricky actions on their buttons like that.

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.
