Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

I've had some reports of slow response on this forum. I haven't been on a lot lately because of TBF business and other work.

Can some of you report whether or not you think the forum is running like it should? I have noticed slight slow redraw and pages not coming up without refresh a few times, but may be missing things.

My web host may have already done something too (I have to ask them to do something since I don't control the database that runs this forum). It seems pretty smooth today.
Thanks for your attention and of course, your great participation.

It does seem a lot faster to me today but I still get this every once in a while when I click on a thread:

I'm not seeing the message or graphic you mention Bender (that Rev seems to get too)? Did you attach something or cut-and-paste something in?

It just pops up randomly when clicking on a forum link to go to a topic or category.  No cutting, pasting, or anything like that.  Just navigating the forums.  Happens all the time.  Glad to see it's not just a Mac thing.

I have a very fast connection as well.   I am running IE 6.0 and XP, and the refresh rate seems pretty slow to me - its definately at the forum server end.  I have never gotten the error dan and REvtro hve seen - must be a firefox thing.

I use IE 6 and Firefox. Once in a while I get the same Firefox message - pretty rare and has happened with other PHP sites too a few times. I just hit Cancel and then refresh to get the page. I'm not sure why Firefox does this once in a while.

Thanks Derek... and everyone else. I'll be checking with my host to see if things are running as well as they can, and to see if they have maintenance scheduled for any reason soon that might affect us.
