Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

How many have had a sand bar scare?

Yes
No

A friend of mine went under water for half a block when the edge of a sand bar unexpectedly broke off under his weight. It threw him into current and he was lucky to touch bottom so he knew which way was up. He thought he was done for.

That happened to me once 3 or 4 years ago.  It was a very scary minute or so that seemed like forever before I could get back to shore.  Now I never go wading without a staff.  Definitely be careful, always wear a wading belt with waders, and never go alone.

My wife and I decided to take a walk out on a sandbar in the Miss. River at Shelby Forest old river ramp one day. The sandbar went almost out to the main channel. We had walked out and the down the river a ways when we decided to head back.We walked straight back to the river bank from where we were when we heard the sound of water rushing by!I slowly approached what I heard and out of no where a gushing , fast moving stream of water was coming out from under the sand going about 20 feet and disapeared back under the sand. It was a very scary site to see.THERE IS MOVING WATER UNDER THOSE SANDBARS AND THEY CAN CAVE AT ANYTIME AND TAKE YOU WITH THEM!!I have not been back out on a sandbar since. We walked back out away from the flow of water and back pretty much the way we came before trying to walk up the river bank. That
rushing water was right at the rivers bank, not way out near the edge of the sandbar!! SANDBARS ARE DANGEROUS FOR SURE!!!

I have added a poll. Let me know if you have had a scare on a sandbar.
