Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

Guys and Gals of GLBass.com...

I don't know if everyone knows this or not, but PB is getting married in a little less than a month (Aug. 18 to be exact).? As a part of his "fairwell to life as you know it" party, we are thinking about having a low-key, fun fishing event the morning of Aug. 12 at Kent Lake in Kensington Metro Park.? We are thinking about meeting up around 8am and fishing for 4 or five hours (off the lake by noon, maybe 1pm) before packing it up, cleaning up, and heading out for Phase II of the operation.?

Who on the board would be interested in meeting up and bidding fairwell to PB while enjoying some time on the water at the same time?

Also, if anyone has some ideas on how to run this event, I'd like to hear them.? I personally would like to have some form or element of competition (whether it be a low-cost tourney, biggest junkfish tourney, etc.).? Any thoughts from the Peanut Gallery?

fiker

I'd like to.
I'd like to fish that lake with somebody that knows it.  I never, and I mean never have any luck there at all.  (six trips, and only 1 smallie over the past few years.)

I can bring my 16' boat, or I can ride with somebody else.

So much water.  So many lures.  So little time.
