Just found this site. Coming up from Columbus Oh to fish LSC. Have always fished at Mitchell's Bay. Wanted to give this side a try. Was thinking of putting in at Self Ridge. Was hoping to get a little help before we came up. Any information would be helpful. Thanks and will post how we did when we get back.

Welcome to the site. The Mile Roads are starting to get going. How long are you going to be up for??

The mile roads are a good place to start.

There are launches at 15 mile, 11 mile, and 9 mile.  There are also some up near Selfridge in Anchor Bay.

The Canadian side of Clair is still closed season on Bass.

Look for relatively clear water.  Move until you find it.   Last week Friday fish were located in about 6 or 7 feet of water, but that can change fairly quickly.   They should be on beds.  Don't be afraid to go in shallower either.

You just got to keep moving until you find them.

Look for rocky/weedy/sandy combination bedding areas.

When all else fails, drag a green tube around.
My favorite three spring time colors are all from Xtreme (GLB sponsor).  I use G3, Slither, and a lot of Canadian Mist.  I believe there are a couple of places along the lake where you can pick them up.   For drop shotting, I often use the 2" version of Canadian mist.  Next time I go down there I'm going to try the Emerald shiner on bedding bass too.
So much water.  So many lures.  So little time.

was there for 3 days - mile roads were very slow and fish were scattered so we didn't spend much time there. selfridge was better but not on fire by any means, fish quality was better there. water clarity was just ok in anchor bay and excellent south of 12 mile. water temps were in the low 60s and we had the best luck in 4-5 feet of water. Caught fish out to 10 feet, but like i said, everything was pretty scattered.

Hopefully you read the posts from past seasons on here. Tons of information already available that will give you plenty of fishing help. Welcome to the web site.

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.
