...I'm not on my trip. As far as I know, everyone else made it to the Amazon - Rio Negro. I guess you really shouldn't try to fly on Friday the 13th. I'm hoping to find out tomorrow if I can recover any of my trip or not. Kind of a bummer to be shoveling snow on the day you should be getting a sunburn while catching smashing peacock bass.

I've never seen a company make as many mistakes in one day as were made to make sure I didn't make it to the flight that mattered. I may talk about it in a few days after my redheaded... after I've cooled off some more. I learned a few more things the hard way.

Maybe I'll get to try some ice fishing soon though. Maybe.

I will add that the travel agent and Ron Speed Jr are working hard to see if I can still go this year albeit without my friends who should be having the time of their life right now! I was told Randy VanDam's group this past week was going to be close to 600 peacock bass landed with something like 30 or so over 15 pounds. Biggest peacock for the week was sitting at 25 pounds!!! WOW!

Sorry to hear about you not making your trip, maybe a winter outing to Newton would help you cope with the disappointment.

Fun thing about flying - penalties and fees. I think I'm in for a fight with one airline. We'll see.

Newton is on my radar. The one thing about staying home is I can get some website work done, which is good.

I am sorry to hear this DK. I know how much you were looking forward to this trip. Hopefully things work out so at least you get the refund that it sounds like you most definitely deserve.

Airlines aren't known for being outgoingly generous (if outgoingly is a word?). I will find out more tomorrow about how bad I should feel or not. I'll be spending some time on the phone. yee ha

I first heard while working the booth this past weekend.  I gotta tell ya Dan my heart sank for you when I heard the news.  I'm so sorry for your loss of much anticipated adventure.

So much water.  So many lures.  So little time.

So much for getting bit in the butt by an Anaconda.

That would be a nope. I'm learning a number of things the hard way this week but the Florida travel agent and Ron Speed Jr are trying very hard to help as much as they can.

My heart (and my stomach) was in my right big toe or thereabouts. I tried to throw up on them at the help(less) desk but with all the rushing around, sitting on airplanes waiting for other people's luggage and running through airports, I didn't have a chance to eat...

I didn't come to the show Saturday because I was worn out and not good company for anyone (even myself). No one wants to see a grown man (sort of) mope.

I'm going through my list of all the things that might not happen to me now and that one was right up there! Bum(mer). It is possible that I may get to go on a trip with another group (meet new people) and only lose some of my money. Waiting until I call the local airlines and do some debating on the properties of fairness.

You know... if I had a choice between making the flight but having to be bit in the butt by an anaconda, or not going to avoid being bit by an anaconda, I'd take the anaconda every day. I bet they are hot and just catching them! Last week they landed around 600 peacock bass!

I turned on the TV this morning while eating and it was about some anglers fishing the exact same stretch of the river we fish. I almost cried...

I hope they are having a great trip. I wish I would quit learning things the hard way. I used to be smart. I don't know what happened... I'm going to give myself a timeout to think about it.
