I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

GreatLakesBass.com member Riser145 is on an extended Alaskan fishing adventure. He's started a blog with some pictures over on Tumblr. It is public if you want to check out a little far, far North adventure, scenery, wildlife and fishing - Alaska Fishing Adventure.

Only two days of blogs? We got to chip in for more energy drinks from that guy. Great photos and I would have loved to read more.

He's just getting started and right now he's headed into rough country for a few days with no Internet, only bears and fish. So check back at the end of the week for more pictures and updates. He's going to be there for a while.

What no satellite phone? Hey DK do you know anything about a contest that was running a while back. The prize was a KVD Fishing package and an autograph jersey. It was run by Bass Pro Shops.

I vaguely remember something about an autographed jersey but I'm not lucky like you so I usually just ignore lots of the giveaways. I could be thinking of the raffle they've had for a couple charities too this year.

Do you have any idea how much it cost to do Internet over a satellite phone?

The internet is a little hard to come by up this way sometimes. We've been trying to keep up on this in between hiking/fishing trips but we just got some more posted on the blog so check them out. We will try and get some more on here so we can get caught up...not enough time in the day but we would take donations so we could get more energy drinks!

Riser145

Hey thanks a lot Dan for posting this really appreciate it!

djkimmel

How do we get the donations to you? Homing caribou?!? ;D

I'm jealous of the adventure. I wish I was going to have Internet in Brazil so I could try to compete but the only thing working down there will be a satellite phone (if you're on the roof of the boat). I can't afford to hook a ride on a satellite every day - satellite BGAN Internet is very pricey and not quite the speed we are all getting used to. So keep up the reports every time you hit civilization! It is more fun as you go along than waiting for one big report when you get back!

Yes we will do what we can. Next adventure we will be hiking up to the mouth of a mountain lake that gets sockeye. The rainbows and dollys follow the salmon and we will follow as well so hopefully we will have some pics soon. Unfortunatelythe bears do the same

Riser145

Haha nice. That would be one way to get a hold of us! I'm sure we would all love to hear about you r trip regRdless oif it all came at once totally understanda. I apologize for the text its all on the phone
