Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

I had the privilege of showing a friend around the lake today and tried my best to put him on fish.  We had a great time.  Thanks Bob for the great company.  I had an awesome day.  Lots of laughs and lots of fish.

The Report:  Today we got out at 7:30 and found plenty of fish in all the same areas as Monday.  The downside was that in general the fish were smaller, but that doesn't concern me because in the areas we were fishing, schools move in and move out.  Our best fish was probably a little under 3lbs, but a friend of mine who was out boated a 4.9 and one that looked as big that got off right at the side of the boat.  So there were some bigger fish mixed in.

It's just my opinion, but I think the competitive bite and the abundance of bait meant that we just needed to be patient and wade through the smaller fish to get to the big ones.  They were definitely there.  And just like last week, the tube did well...the dropshot was a bust.  We didn't catch a single fish on a dropshot today.  Weird.

I wish I had thought to take a picture today because we were swarmed by baitfish all day long.  There were giant schools of bait all around us all day.  They were all different sizes.  And yep...the fish were there too.  There is a good bite going on right now.  I wish I could be out in the morning but I'm helping a good friend move to a new home.  So that trumps fishing.

If you can, get out there because the fishing is pretty good right now.
