Hi everyone,
Has anyone else heard or seen the new Curado for 2012. I noticed bass pro shops was discounting them and some guys I fished with this week that were practicing for the upcoming college FLW match on the Detroit River said word at home was Shimano has a redesigned model that is replacing the current E models. I hope they take production back to Japan instead of Tiawan.

FishermanJohn

I'm sure that they'll be announced at ICAST this month.  The new  BASS Times today said that they redesigned and upgraded the Citica and Curado but did not go into any details.  Either way I love my Curado and I stocked up on 2 more with the close-out prices.

The new Bass Times included a photo of the new Curado.

Cabelas has them on sale right now for just 4 more days - check out the sale link here: http://www.greatlakesbass.com/forum/index.php?topic=10490.0

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

Here's the 200 E (old one). The new one is also lighter (6.9 ounce versus 7.6)

That new revo mgx looks pretty sweet!!

Been looking at reels myself

Here's what I've figured out so far

The new 2012 Curado is the old Citica and the new new Chronarch is the old
Curado but it has a plastic star drag and spool tention cap were as the old
Curado had metal pieces

Not sure what became of the old Chronarch. It's not the Core

So
Instead the reels being upgraded for the 2012
They took last years lower model upgraded that reel and called it the new
Curado, Chronarch

I'm on the fence
I'd be all over last years Curado's. But I hate the green

The new 2012 Curado and Citica are built on the Caenan frame, not the citica.  When you compare the specs, the reels were definitely downgraded compared to their previous versions.

The chronarch E is the curado E with a white paint job.  No upgrades.

I'm still mad at myself for not stocking up on Curado 100D's and Chronarch 50mgs when they were discontinued.  I won't make that mistake again!

I hear you
The 50MG is a great reel. It's more or less the Core these days without the A-RB bearings.
I've started picking up Chronarch 100D models. Just wish I could find a place discounting them. I don't see a replacement for that reel at this time.
