Probably one of the slowest days that I have had this time of year on LSC..Fished the mile roads from Metro beach down to 9 mile...It was muddy all up and down the Mile stretch..It did start to clear up some the closer you got to nine mile...
My wife and I managed 11 fish in about 3 hours...She kicked my butt catching 8 of them...She caught one over 4 lbs but the rest were all in the 3lb range...All hers were caught on a tube...I worked jerkbaits, dropshot, tube, and a swim jig with little success...I used the excuse with the wife that I was busy checking the boat systems out since it was the first launch for the boat this year..I don't think she bought it... ::)
There were probably close to 30 boats up and down the flats..I only saw a handfull of fish caught all day..I think guys were catching them it was just few and far between compared with the usual spring action...
It was an awesome day out as far as weather goes and the lake was pretty flat.....A perfect weather day for fishing....The wind did start to swing back to the east some around 1PM....I hate to see that with all of the mud.....Hopefully it turns back to the West or North west..
With more rain called for in the next few days I am not sure if the water conditions will improve but if you have the time I would definetly get out there....It beats the heck out of working.....

Tcook and French Fry Jeff are over there. The texts I got say the opposite. They caught I think it was 112 on Tuesday and 219 on Wednesday. Something like that. Tuesdays best went 24 and wednesdays best went 27. So the rumor goes...

Live to fish, Fish to live.

bassfan586

I have heard the rumor too.  Jeff said his back was sore.  I said "from what?  Calm conditions on lsc or hauling 4-6 lbers all day" :D AS of noon today was the slowest day.  When i go sunday it will A. Rain.  B.  be 4' rollers C. Muddy mess.  Or D.  all of the above  with a few tuna boats using me as a racing bouy thrown in for good measure.
Got one!

motocross269

That is awesome for Tim and Jeff.... ;D It just wasn't my day must be...I didn't see many fish caught in other boats where I was at...Tim and Jeff probably have a Secret Squirrel hole....I know who I am following next weekend... ;D

TCook

All I can say is it was absolutely retarded out there, my arms are sore and my thumbs are ripped to shreds. Will put up a report when Jeff sends me the pics, it was by far both of our best 4 days of fishing we ever experienced.
FISH HARD!!!

jim 2row

Your a lucky man to get your wife out fishing with ya. Mine goes a couple times a year with me but just lays in the sun and takes pics. I was going to go to brest bay till I read that it was that good up that way. I dont know its a xtra hour drive for me so I usually wait till my buddy that lives up that way calls me but his health hasnt been to good so he hasnt been out.

jim 2row

Well my 11 year old daughter said she would be up for the drive and spending the day with dad tommorrow. I hope she can get them on tube or wacky worm. Scares me a little with her and trebles. Last year when I took her I didnt get alot of time to fish cause I was tahing pics and helping her take the fish off. Priceless!!

jim 2row

Well I didnt make it to st. clair. My daughter backed out on me this morning. So I went to erie instead. Bad mistake for me but I was fishing so its all good. 6 bass 3 sheephead. oh well theres next weekend.

Firefighter Jeff

Hey Motocross.  Tim read me your post at the hotel that evening.  I meant to make a post before we headed up looking to see if any other members would be out there, and was just too busy and forgot.  Would have been nice to chase you down on the water.  Jeff

I'd love to do that, but other than the DK Open I won't be back til next May.  Have a trip to Burt and Mullet this fall.  Just not enough time or money to do any more than that.  I am thinking about coming up Friday and maybe staying til Sunday.  Not sure if I'll have the boat or not.  Just depends on if it's needed by Dan.  You gonna be fishing Friday or Sunday??

motocross269

I plan on going out Friday.....Weather permitting...I will PM you my cell number

Revtro

PM me your number bro.  I plan to be out on Friday as well.  If we get into anything significant, I'll call ya over.  ;D  They were biting pretty well the other day for us.

You'd have caught more bass I'll bet except Tim and Jeff were catching them all!!

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.
