I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

With the loss of MadWags, we lost a great expert on Grandt Rods. I am very new at being on their pro staff. I just want everyone to know that although I will never fill Wags shoes, I am always here to assist you in any questions or purchases you may wish from Grandt Rods. If I dont know the answer to a question, I can find it. That way, we both learn. If I can assist in any way with your purchase, please feel free to contact me. Grandt Rods is a longtime sponsor of this site, and the maker of some of the finest fishing rods you will ever hold. They also have the best warranty in the business. At any function through this site, I will have an assortment of Grandt rods with me for you to check out. I remain, forever at your service.

Thanks a lot Mike. I have 2 more new Grandt Rods to try out myself and one great one to give away in a contest to a lucky winner to be announced shortly.

As soon as the guys get done with the Minneapolis show this week and I talk to Jim about some plans, I'll get up some updated information that should help everyone.

Don't worry it will probably be similar or the same to what you got. The various pro staff have been helping people out manually like Mike did with you, but I want it to be more defined and Grandt Rods agrees. Just need to finalize a few things so we are all on the same exact page.

I'm sure Mike took good care of you.

I'll call BrianB and see if he and Jim Grandt have things all worked out. One way or the other, I'll see that you get the rod at the correct price. It is a great rod. I have 2 now, but the 2nd one will go to a lucky member of GreatLakesBass.com through a contest to be announced late this week.

Might take a few days to work this out for you because I'm headed to Kentucky Tuesday for the NBAA Championship but I'll see what I can do tomorrow.

Dan and Brian,I got my rod[c10]thank You.Now I have to decide what reel and line to put on.Any ideas?

                                     Thanks Guys bob620

I like a round or low profile reel that fits in my hands. Any dependable brand will do. Pflueger. Abu Garcia. Depends on your budget. I've been using 17 to 20 pound test P-Line Halo fluorocarbon blend line on mine for heaving spinnerbaits out long casts across flats and drops. I wouldn't go any lighter than 12 pound test but the heavier line helps with long casts and keeping the spinnerbait up higher in clear water a little.

I was using my C10 on Monday. I could feel every one of those ornery bluegills grab my trailers and give them the little bluegill shake or even an aggressive pull... along with a few small bass that also gave the bait a pull or two. You can feel everything with that rod!

Dan,I hate to bother You again, but what gear ratio would you get for ease of burning your spinnerbaits during spring, summer, and fall.

I think I'm getting lazy Bob so I went with a 6:1 (not completely lazy since no 7:1). Really, it's a little easier to reel slower when you need to then reel faster when you need to. If you get a smaller spool though, you might want to go to 7:1 but I recommend a slightly bigger spool anyway to hold plenty of the heavier line.
