I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Thinkin about getting one for my 14' johnboat, I river fish alot and the rocks really eat up the leading edge on the aluminum props. Comprop claims low speed hits are not that bad with their props, just curious if anyone has firsthand experience. thanx guys

bosshawg

don't think they're worth the $$.  had one on my 1st boat and going up the river system of portage chain,  caught the tail end of a fallen tree and wiped out all three blades. lucky i had the other alum. prop to put back on.
so IMO, buy a better alum. spare
if it feels good - SET THE HOOK!!

I was told they are for open water only If you just touch something with them they will break. This was from a salesman at Cabelas.

Seems like I heard the same thing. Not sure if all brands and materials are the same. I guess I've always considered them an emergency backup of limited use.

Well I went ahead and ordered it ($56 BPS), the Comprop website musta sucked me in! I'll keep my dinged up aluminum so I don't get stranded and hopefully I'll have good things to say about it after the opener. Plan to run it up the Tobacco side of Sanford on the opener (8-10" deep) I will post up afterwards and tell how long it lasts.

I gotta say I am impressed with the comprop, I have hit a few things with it now, mainly small rocks and some gravel kicked up while runnin' to shallow and all I've done is "scratched it" The leading edge on one fin had a little stuff on it that looked like flash from a mold, I just scraped it off with a razor knife and it looks good as new.

Keep us posted once in a while to see how it continues to work out. Thanks.
