Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

Hi Guys,
I have a 2004 Merc 150 Optimax with 300 hours on it and am thinking about preventative maintenance for the motor. Has anyone ever changed the impeller on this motor (or similar) and is it a do-it-yourself job or should I take it to a pro. I have descent mechanical skills but don't want to get into a big over my head project??? Any suggestions are welcome. And any ideas of the labor cost is also appreciated.

What a timely post. Don just helped me do the same thing to my Merc 150. Its not a hard job if you know what you're doing. Don was a great teacher. I think I might even be able to do it myself next time. If Don helps you, I would suggest a good meal for him. Something I neglected to do. He was about to faint by the time he got a chance to eat that day. Don, I owe you a big meal somewhere.

Got Fish??

I have several Friends who have replaced impellers. On their own motors. Had someone show them how. If your doing it for the first time, and do not have someone who knows what they are doing. It can cause you a lot of headache's. You mite want to have a boat mechanic do it for you.

Its not that hard.  I always do my own.  I trust myself far more than any boat dealer mechanic when it comes to pretty much any work on the boat or motor.

Check out the merc forum on bass boat central.  The link below is an article written by Sherm that shows you how to do it with step by step pics
