I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Does anyone know anything about these boats or motors I'm thinking about trading my Tracker for a 1997 18ft with the 150 faststrike any info would be great. I'm supposed to hear back from the guy this weekend.

I've got a Javelin Renegade 20 w/ a Johnson 200, not an apple to apple comparison but I absolutely LOVE the way mine handles.  Could be better designed for space, and the fit and finish isn't the best, but it is a fishing boat after all, not a showpiece.

Not sure how much you know about Javelin, but basically it's stratos' ugly sister. The hull is usually the same as a stratos, depending on model. The big difference is the Javelins did not get nice carpet, gas props on the lids, livewell timers, better gauges, etc...
I ran a Jav for 3 yrs and absolutely loved it, it was a great boat.  No complaints at all.

Those Johnson Fast strike motors are bullet proof....Have the compression checked and pop the plug on the lower unit and check for water...Give it a good check out on the water also..
They are carbed so they suck gas but they are a proven performer.....

I have a 1999 Javelin Renegade 19 with Johnson 150 on it.  Javelin was an OMC company and was bought or absorbed up my Stratos in 2001.  For several years after that Stratos used the Renegade hull on some of their 19 and 20 ft boats.  My motor isn't a faststrike or at least there isn't a faststrike sticker on it.  I think the faststrike is pre-1999 but I'm not sure.  I really like my Javelin.  This hull has a fast dry ride and is tough as nails.  I have had very few issues with the motor other the timing advance and some heat soak issues, both very common.  Being a carb engine it burns a lot of gas compared to my friends with EFI engines anyway.
