This is a tale of two lakes. Intertwined lakes, in Barry County, Michigan. Where somehow the water has gone away. Upper and Lower Crooked Lakes, both near and dear to me, are suffering from the lowest water levels I've seen in the 35+ years I've been fishing them.

I was checking out the online search engine's indexing the site. Yahoo. Google. Microsoft. Even Yandex - the Russian search engine that makes me nervous. And then wham! New player in the house!

A whole bunch of spiders pop up crawling all over the forum. A swarm! Almost looked like some kind of coordinate attack which, granted, can make a web site owner more than a little nervous. So I quickly check the source. All from Baidu, the leading Chinese search engine. One of the few in the world that kicks Google's butt anywhere.

They say there are more computers on the Internet now in China than anywhere else. So... with Baidu indexing GreatLakesBass.com hard now, I wonder if it isn't just a matter of time before Chinese bass anglers are swarming all over the site?!? Now... if I can only find someone who can translate GLBass into Mandarin...??

It could happen ;D

Go ahead and search greatlakesbass.com on baidu.com. Kind of weird... My portal I'm working on behind the scenes comes up too if you search great lakes bass. I like that... if there are any bass anglers in China anyway.

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

Bender

In my search the portal comes up, but not this site. I don't really like how all the links open in new tabs when you click them on Baidu either, I'll probably stick with Google for my searches for now.

Dan, that is sooooo 1990's........  :) :D

Mega search engines, meta search engines.... Google makes it so much easier.

Remember when you used to actually tell the computer which internet the ip address was actually on?

And how you had to use a different one depending on what you were looking for.
So much water.  So many lures.  So little time.

Heck... I barely remember last week!!

I actually figured Bender was behind the new interest in this site from baidu! Maybe not.

As far as dogpile... I just can't get past the name... as long as they have me indexed... that's good enough for me :)
