I know this question has already been asked, but I did not see any comments on Optima tm batteries. Does any body have any experience with them? How do they stack up against Cabelas AGM batteries?

Are there any others to consider?

Thanks for the input.
Peace.
It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble or hard work. It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart.

Save some money and buy the AGM Cabelas Battery. I purchased 3 last year and love them. I bought the 24 series because they had the same ratings as the larger 27 series. This saved space in my boat.

When I was at Ranger back in december ,I asked that question, and they said stay away from Optima batteries.  Not sure why, but they were not high on them as a factory option.

Just came to me - It had to with convential chargers are too powerful for the spiral set-up in the optima batteries, and is burns a whole in the glass mat rendering the cells dead.

I run a Stealth system on my boat and have no problems with charging the AGM batteries. My friend runs dual pro batteries with a standard charging system and he has no problem. He took back a battery to Cabelas last year, owned it for 3 years, they exchanged no questions asked.

AGM's are fine - it was just optimas - they have the cells spirally wrapped, and on end, so the glass is thinner in that area where it requires a different charger.
I fully agree various AGM mfg batteries are awesome, especially in the pounding environment of a bassboat on eerie with no issues.
