Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

Genesee Township man lands possible state record fish
By Liz Shaw | Flint Journal

GENESEE TOWNSHIP, Michigan — A Genesee Township man may have landed a new state fishing record.

Deaunti Kemp, 28, caught what he believes is a 2-pound, 14-ounce bluegill in shallow water on Lake Nepessing in Lapeer County on Monday afternoon.

The current state record for a bluegill is 2 pounds 12 ounces, according to the Michigan Department of Natural Resources Master Angler Program. Kemp's fish will have to be verified by a DNR fisheries biologist before it can be officially listed as the new state record.

Fisheries biologist Joe Leonardi, who came out to inspect the fish, said it resembles a species of sunfish but an exact determination will have to be made. All three sunfish species in the state records are under two pounds.

Huge panfish. Possibly a hybrid, but if it turns out to be a bluegill, or any other full species, it would be a new state record. That would the 3rd new state record from Michigan in 2009 if it is!! Even if it is a hybrid, it is a huge fish!

Seems like a great time to be an angler. Here's some video of the giant panfish from Channel 12 in Flint:
