CNN's Sanchez Reports From Sinking Car, Advises Viewers to Buy a Little Hammer
Sep 29th 2009 By Scott Indrisek

CNN reporter Rick Sanchez's latest addition to the annals of disaster porn starts off mundane and quickly gets frightening. Anyone suffering from claustrophobia or an irrational fear of H20 might want to steer clear of this clip.

those little spring loaded punches are pretty cheap & fit nicely in the glove box; pretty cheap insurance policy

I may have to pick one up some day... so far the closest I've come to submerged is a 3rd of the way up the door... I'm hoping to just not ever do it again. ;D

Yeah, not being submerged at all, is your best defense against drowning in your tow vehicle, but my first year as a boater (a long time ago) at Elizabeth Park, one fine spring day.  I was launching my MirroCraft with my 1/2 ton Chevy (manual trans) when it popped out of gear launching my boat, trailer (with me on it) and truck into the Detroit River.  Fortunately my partner acted quickley hoping into the quickly rolling Chevy before it was completely in the water.

It took me a while to get all of the water out of the cab.  Fortunately it didn't have carpet.  I btw, utilizing cat-like reflexes managed to leap into the boat (from the trailer) and never even got wet.

Ah yes... I fondly remember the days of the manual transmission... what fun I had back then!!
