I have a quantum code baitcaster that I recently took apart to clean and oil. Upon putting it all back together i found that the drag wont tighten up like it did previously. I can get it tight if i really turn the drag adjuster hard, but it seems to tighten up my reels action too. Has anyone had a problem like this, i could really use some help!

Thanks

Shaun

Sounds like you may have got oil on the drag disks. Remove the right side and clean the disks off and put back together.

LipRip

I did that last night. I pulled it back apart and made sure all the parts were in the correct spot and then wiped off the drag disk. Do you think I might need to use a chemical (like brakeKleen) to remove the oil? I'm truly out of ideas.

TritonTR20

Rule of thumb. oil bearings, grease gears. Drag disks should be clean. I dont think that would hurt them. If they had grease or oil on them it would deffinatly cause your problem.

Thanks for your help triton!
