Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

Just before the October Natural Resources Committee meeting on Thursday, October 9, Commissioner John Walters added an amendment to Fisheries Order 206 – “Bass - Closed bass CIR season from May 1 – Friday before the third Saturday in June for Burt, Mullet, Crooked, Pickerel, and Black Lakes and their connecting waters.”

I talked to some guy in a blue Skeeter at noon.  he said the fishing was a little slow.  hope it picks up for ya.

got em good.  found some early spawners locked on and picked them off.  then we got on a good trap bite and loaded up.  once that dwindled we found a stretch of shoreline stacked with prespawn largies and destroyed then with mccarters magic upskirt jigs.  would also like to note that i still have the same trailer on my upskirt jig after 30 or so fish in 4 trips out.

McCarter hired a guide to go out there with him, then he got into the fish.  :P
I didn't tear them up, but fish came pretty steady boating 8 or so. Nothing huge, but decent fish. Spent a lot of time driving around too.
