I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Anybody out there that may be able to replace a guide on a baitcaster for me? I have a Gapen Wilderness rod I stepped on the first time out last year. Never even got to cast it.  Of course I'm willing to pay for the time and materials. I was looking into doing it myself but don't want to invest in a lot of materials right now. PM me. I can drop it off.

Dan - i can show you how to fix it yourself. All you need is some 30 minute epoxy, a few drops of acetone and some nylon thread (and a replacement guide of course).
If you can get to Jann's or Cabelas - they also sell rod finish in single-use packets so you don't have to invest in a whole bottle as well as the thread...
the 30 min stuff you find for 2-3$ a syringe will also work in a pinch with a little thinning (acetone). Other than all you need is a small kids paintbrush, a cardboard box and a phone book.

Its actually pretty easy.

DD,

Thedude can for sure hook you up.  If you don't want to do it yourself I will be working the Xtreme booth in Lansing in two weeks.  If you are coming down for that bring the rod and the guide,  I will fix it for you.  If you bring it to me on Thursday, I can probably get it fixed and back to you by Sunday.

What color is the thread used to wrap that guide?

Let me know what you want to do.
