Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

How do you guys stow your heavy gear (spare prop, anchor, tools etc) in your boat lockers??? I hate the thought of the anchor bouncing around in the locker and causing some damage...

smbassman

BPS boat bags.  It has a hard, contoured bottom so it has to fit in your storage area but they work good for keeping the heavy stuff contained.

I keep a 5 gallon bucket under my passenger console full of anchors.  Easy access, never moves, and the bucket can be useful.

I keep mine in bubble wrap, and put it in the box behind my seat.  Thats where I store my extra life jacket, safety equipment, and throwable device.  I just pack it in there tight, and have never had a problem.

I use a Rubbermaid container in the bilge area on my ranger. It holds a spare prop and prop wrench, 1 gal oil and funnel along with a towel and jumper cables and tools along with the anchor in a bag (15lb). I strap the container to the existing spare prop holding area above the bilge pumps and in the center of the boat. Keeps everything nice and dry, and accessible.

That is a good idea rigging something up in the bilge area...My Bass cat has almost no storage under the rear deck..It is great for working on the boat in the bilge area, because there is a ton of room, but It would be nice to have a little more storage back there..
