This is a tale of two lakes. Intertwined lakes, in Barry County, Michigan. Where somehow the water has gone away. Upper and Lower Crooked Lakes, both near and dear to me, are suffering from the lowest water levels I've seen in the 35+ years I've been fishing them.

Tournament anglers - Roy Randolph has started up his 2006 open tournament list. Check it out here - 2006 Open Bass Tournament List - if you want to see a comprehensive list. Click on The 06 Tournament list is here link when you get there. You can get to a scroll bar on the far right for the long list that scrolls within the box window.

Tournament directors, you may want to use the online form linked from that page to get your tournament schedule details added to Roy's list.

Note: ALWAYS confirm tournament dates, locations and details with the actual tournament organization as these are subject to change and inaccuracies on this forum and/or Roy's list.

You can see some additional information too about Roy's new website - http://www.fishingpixels.com.

Is there a way to view, online, what clubs have registered with the DNR for a tournament - open or club ?

Dropshot, just click on the underlined sentence in the post below that says 2006 Open Bass Tournament List, and it'll take you to the site.  Then click the link on the left side of the page that says Open List.

I was looking for more than an open list. It would be nice to know if a club had a permit for a small inland lake on the same day I was planning on fishing it.

If the tournament is on the list AND going out of an MDNR ramp, you'd hope they have the permit after January 1. As far as I know there isn't any place you can check on tournament permits. I don't know if the MDNR would release that information or not. Wouldn't hurt to ask though. You'd have to call MDNR Parks and Rec, and ask.
