Sitting at Kent Lake talking to the onstar lady registering my new truck.  I see an Osprey dive into the water grab a fish and land on shore right in front of me.  It was about a 5 inch Bass still alive.  He picked it up and flew off and landed on one of the offshore structures.  Definitely not catch and release.  Wish I had my camera it was neat to see.   On another note the water is much higher than last week. Should be normal level by the opener.

Those Osprey are really cool.  A couple years ago I was fishing way up near the mouth of the river and got a little too close to their nest (well, at least too close for their liking).  One of the birds was circling the boat screaming bloody murder until I was far enough away from their nest for them to care.

I hope that Osprey doesn't post a fishing report for bass.  You know how DK gets about fishing before the season is open.........  :o

he did have a band on his leg,  but i could not read the numbers so i could not turn him in.  there is also one on the stand near the Milford road entrance.  the ranger lady told me it was very protective of its nest last year.  great to see them coming back.

I did see where it got the fish so i may steal the spot next week. :D :D

birds will lead you to fish...but following ospreys, there might not be much left to catch lol
