Custom painted Norman DD22 crankbait.

I just started getting into custom painting crankbaits. This one is in the peanut butter and jelly color, any tips or opinions would be appreciated.

what kind of airbrush are you using? looks great!

The spikes are hand painted and the rest is done with a regular spray gun for painting cars.

It Looks good Benny.  I remember you telling me you were doing this when we went out to Kent that day fishing all McCarter's spots...What did you use for the clear coat?  Here's a tip, not so much a suggestion: go to a scrap booking store and look at the flexible, plastic stencil kits.  They have all sorts of patterns (wavy lines, circles, arrow-looking thingys).  Take some mesh scaling and tape it behind the stencil and -lightly- spray your paint through the stencil (they are flexible so you can bend to fit the shape of just about any lure)...instant scales and even patterns every time. (the only reason I know about these stencils is because of my wife...I do not frequent scrap booking stores, so please don't start any rumors  )

now the truth.  he tells me the wife won't let him fish now i see.  next thing you know he will have a booth at Gibralter trade center.  maybe a spot on HSN.

Wow! I have had a lot of comments on this bait. Even on the LSCN forum. I will buy some blanks and paint them soon as possible, and let you guys know when they are ready. Now if I can only get KVD to use it next year at the Classic, and he wins it on this bait!!!!!!!!!!!!  Then again, that would only be a dream!!!!!!!!!!!!

You gave it a Mann's Crankbait type pattern look.  What do you call it???  You got to call it something...........anything............make something up.  How about "Psyco-shad".      Looks good but will it catch BIG BASS?!?!?!?
