Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

Well sports fans................It's the NE Pats vs. the NY Giants.  I am going to go with the Pats.  I would like them to complete their perfect undefeated season with a Super Bowl win.  This is what it's all about.  Too bad we will probably never see the Lions win it all in our lifetime................ :P

They are but they got to win first and not just seven (7) games.  And then they got to beat teams like the Giants, Cowboys, and Green Bay.........not to mention San Diego and whoever else they played this year that made the playoffs.  They will probably be no better next year than they were this year.  However, they did improve from the 2006 season, but it wasn't good enough.

I know it's only football, but I have to admit being in kind of a foul mood today because the Pack lost.  Man, what a bummer.  I was really pulling for Favre, but in the end he did have an outstanding season at his age...heck at any age, this would have been a great season.  I got to see them play at Ford Field and whomp on the Lions which was a win-win for me, since whichever team would have won, I'd have been happy.  But it was a blast sitting amongst my fellow Cheeseheads rooting for GB.

Probably the biggest reason I'm a grouch today is that when the Packers got the ball in overtime I said to one of my buddies, "knowing Favre, he'll try to win it on his own and throw an interception".  Man, did I ever wish I would have been wrong about that one!  But I have to give it to the guy for not being afraid to go for broke when the chips were down.  (do two cliche's in one sentence count for anything?)  Still, I think a Green Bay/New England SB would have been amazing and one of the most exciting SB's in recent history.

I'm looking forward though to seeing if the Patriots can go all the way.  Personally I'm kind of tired of seeing the old Dolphins players celebrating whenever a good team loses a game so that they can't go undefeated.  It's just my opinion of course, but it gets tiresome and seems a little classless.  Besides, the Patriots have already won more consecutive games, so I have to give them the props they deserve.

By the way, Manning was just SICK last night.  He threw a great game.  I'd love to pin the loss on the Pack, but I have to give it up for the Giants especially in light of the horrible field goal kicking.  They were much more effective with the run game and the Pack didn't seem to have much of answer defensively.  I think the SB is going to be a better game than a lot of people think.

But if Eli has a bad game, would we call that pulling a "Peyton Manning"?  ha ha
