Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

Does anyone that went to last years regional have experience with hotels other than the Iowan?  I stayed there last year and it was o.k, but the parking/charging situation got worse and worse as the week went on.  We arrived on Friday night, but I didn't have any cones with me to reserve my parking spot.  Being one of the last ones off the water each day kind of took it's toll as more people showed up.  I hated fishing late with that nagging feeling that we should be getting back, just to be able to park and plug in.

I remember seeing some Hotels that didn't look like they were as bad, but of course I didn't note the names of the places.  Any help would be appreciated.

Of course, I still have to make it.  Talk about sitting on the bubble going into the Super Tourney....I'm it.  40th place.  But I'm determined to make it.  In fact I'm looking forward to going back, believe it or not.  I learned alot, and I'm bent on doing MUCH better.

In 2000 Jeff and I stayed at the Madison Inn Motel on the west side of town I think (800-728-7316  319-372-7740). Worked out pretty well back then. Lots of anglers stayed there, but we all seemed to have enough room to do our thing.

A lot can happen in a few years, but it's all I know besides Wally World campground. I remember liking the muddy Mississippi that year...

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

Last year I stayed in Donnellson at the motel there.  I think it was called the All Saints, but I think they changed the name of it with new ownership.  Anyway, it's the only place in town.  It was about 15 minutes from the ramp, but we were the only people there.  All the room in the world for your boat.  It's certainly not a holiday inn, but my room had frig, mic, toaster oven, in addition to the expected things.  24 hour gas station a couple of blocks away, on the way to the lake, too.
