Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

Is it just me or is lake St.Clair better than ever right now? It seem to me
say 3 4 yrs ago you could go out catch 2 2.5's al day long. Now days it's
3's 3.5's all day, with your 4's or better every stinkin trip. I've been out only
three time's this yr and have had the best smallie fishing ever. Looking at
some of the weights posted for the local tourny's man.. 20 21 22 lb sacks
are the norm. I guess my point is that St.Clair is ON.. and i am thankfull that
this awesome fishery is right in my back yard  :) Oh and could St.Clair beat
out Erie one day?? maby!!

You're right.  St. Clair has rocked this year.  But that last 2 weeks for me have been brutal.  Still, it's the place to be for bigger bags this year.

I used to be able to predict a big fish year with good accuracy over the years, but the pattern has just been thrown out the window.

There's no doubt in my mind that this fishery is surging and shows little sign of slowing down.  It's not just the big fish, there are good numbers of smallies available in all year classes.

Part of the equation is the St. Clair River effect.  It's been next to impossible to get anyone to go up the river (as opposed to the channels) for years.  That's all changed now and the river fish are very competitive with anything coming from Erie.

The Lake has shown us a lot more too this year.  Just look at the weights from opening day up until a week ago.  Lot's of threes and you know you better bring back a lot of fours to compete.

So much water and so little time...

Mojo

and what is it with the big fish all turning on the shad looking drop shots and slowing on the goby ? Does anyone know if Goby has a period where they mature and and hide leaving the Smallies or is it that the bait fish mature and become the more abundant food source ?

How about craw ? When do they peak during the year ?
Thanks Dan for bringing year round Catch and Release to Michigan
