Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

Just a note - still not in time for this outing - But, Canada changed the season for Bass from last Saturday to fourth Saturday in June. I don't know what they do for early season cath and release as far as ticketing you if they see you catch to many bass on the same spot.

As that leaves open for boaters Chris, Jack & Joe,

I have a small problem.  I have to be off the water by noon.  I don't want to create an inconvenience for any of you guys fishing by me having to leave, so I thought I'd throw it out there that if one of you is willing to fish with me as your non-boater and can drop me at the dock at noon, that would be great.

Let me know if that might work with any of the three of you.

Thanks!

I also have another non-boater comming.  Dave Griffin, a guy from work.  Nice guy, good fisherman but not a tournament guy.  I plan on riding 3 in my boat.

Looking forward to fishing with Brian.  We have tried to hook up a few times, but it has never worked out.  Should be a blast!!!

It is up to 90% for me. The programing is going really good for my customer's launch next week for Chysler. Steve D, are you a real person? Never met you, only heard others say that you have been around before.
I would really appreciate to have a partner that is familiar with the lake since I have not been out there before. At least to help me navigate the shallow waters of St. Clair anyway.
Thanks!

You guys this is great ! I'm geeked.  ;D

My fight club partner Mike Moran and his friend are putting in at 16 mile or Selfridge, then running down to meet us at 6 - 6:15 am. I think he is going North to the North Channel grass, or Anchor Bay,  off the mile roads where those fish are less pressured than the mile road fish. Maybe he'll have 1 or 2 of us follow him, New ideas  :o  Dont be ascared of em !!

Anyway, I never have a preference of whom to fish with, Joe or Jack, I still learn alot each time out. Glad everyone can make it.

FYI - Lunar tables call for an early morning Major feeding period so get to your spots for 5 lb+ early !
Thanks Dan for bringing year round Catch and Release to Michigan

Mojo

One more fun idea : I propose we have a 5 doll hair big bass contest too ? Biggest bass wins pot ?
Thanks Dan for bringing year round Catch and Release to Michigan

Langer

How about 5 dollars it would cost me more to go and buy 5 dolls and cut there hair off.

Personally I would just like to fish, I look at these events as relaxing and dont want to have to haul my 7lber Im going to catch all over the lake.  ;D

Hey there,

Yes, Chris, I do exist... :)  As far as experience on St. Clair, mine is really from say 2005 and back.  I only fished St. Clair once last year.  If you're looking for someone with a bit more knowledge of late, Steve L. probably has more knowledge than I.

Don't worry Chris.  You can follow us around if you want and I'll hook you up with lots of GPS coords that morning to help you out.  Barring high winds, you won't have much to worry about.  There are very few places in the lake you need to worry about hitting anything.

Jack and I are going exploring up the middle, North channels, some of the North east side of the lake for bigguns ! See ya there
Thanks Dan for bringing year round Catch and Release to Michigan

Had a great time today, thanks to Tom for letting me follow you around and Steve for being a great partner; and yes he is a real person!
Except for the ride back in where there were a lot of big wakes and then the Sheriff wanted to have a word with me. Turns out their interpretation of "no wake" and mine differed a little, after some explanation mine is the same as theirs now.  ::) ;D

My pleasure.  I was starting to get worried though when we didn't get on fish in the first hour and a half.  I was starting to think Daryl would figure I was full of it.  But like clockwork on Clair, the 10am bite got going.  I think over all we boated a few less than 30 fish.  We did have a spurt with some nice ones including that one over 4lbs.  Man, was she fat!  PHAT??

It was a perfect day to be on the lake.  BTW - Did anyone else see that speedboat go all the way to the ramp down the Clinton on plane?  I think that may have been why the Sherrif was at the dock, lights blazin.

Daryl was a great guy to hang with for the day too.  I'll email the pics to ya.

What a great group of guys and what a great idea, the non competitive Bass club.  As a first timer I was very pleased with the experience.  I have fished with Seth several times going back to Oklahoma (sweet home Oklahoma that is) so I knew what to expect with him.  The club concept, on the other hand, was new to me and I liked it.

Brian, Seth and I had a great time and boated about 65 bass with the big one being a 3.5 #er, my personal best so far.  They were all caught on a variety of green tubes at a variety of depths.  My 3.5 came off of a rock jetty at the mouth of the south channel.

I would like to join the club but don't know if I am up to the blood sacrifice and Skull and Bones type initiation that Seth told me about.

Thanks to God and you guys for a great day.

Langer

Welcome to the Site David. I had a blast fishing with you and Seth on Saturday. I hope you decide to join the club. Dont worry about the initiation.... ;D

Oh yeah congrats on your personal best smallie.

Ditto on the congrats for your smallie, David.

I also had my personal best day out there in terms of weight of my top 5 pulled in.

Look forward to the next time out with ya!

We'll forgo the blood ritual for you David.  You will have to get the official club tattoo though.   ;D  Hope to see you at our next get-together.  I think you'll find this group of guys to be some of the nicest around.  One cool thing about the club is that we don't attract a lot of competitive types, so the vibe is very positive and friendly.

Seth, where are the bigguns out there?  I got one that busted 4lbs, but that was it.  Lots of typical 3lbers and 3.5's.  That's just not gonna get it done.  Maybe you and can team up and figure it out before the season really gets going.  Let me know what days you want to practice for the BFL.  Your boat or mine...up 2 U.

July 2 & 3 you are welcome to ride along.  Misson:  Learn Walpole, so make sure you have that licence.

If it is blowing bad out of the south we will work on the S Canada shore or the river.
