Guys - wheres all the reports of what is going on out there?  I know thers a few of ya out there, tons of Trailers at the different launches.

I was out with my 9 y.o. Sat just for a low key day of fishing.  Decided to try some water I had not fished before this year. Launched at HArley around 7:30.   Sinc we had caught a few in Anchor Bay last weekend, thought we might try there first just to get him a quick fish or two.  A few boats in the area, and nobody seemed to be catching anything.  TRied everything for him - topwater, senkos, tubes,... no bites - not even a rockbass.  LEft after about 90 minutes for sticking with the plan.

On the way out, decided to check out Straberry Ridge area - water was significantly colder than the bay  by 10-12 degrees - 57 most places deeper than 6 feet.   I did manage a few keepers, but nothing puching more than two pounds - noticed they would not chase or follow a JB or spinnerbait - it was all slow plastics on bottom - extreme bass tackle skirted twin tail in green pumpkin/chartreuse purple flake to be specific.

Moved on to the delphine area looking for the rock piles down there.  Found a few up shallow - 3-4 feet - no fish there.  Moved out to 7-8 fow, and caught a few keepers and many shorts, but only right on the rocks - all on the same twin tail.

Moved up to the mile roads - 9-mile 7-8 fow, 67F,  nothing - little weed or rocks to be found.  Moved up to 10 mile - 7-8 fow - nothing, but weeds looked better.  Decided to go out much deeper - found 12-13 fow about a mile due east.  Switched to a 5" tube of the same color, and 2nd cast - nice smallie - pushing 5 lbs for sure.  Due to the inexperienced net guy(kid), we decided on a long distance release after it went crazy near the boat  - ok, the fish decided, but did get a good look at him.  made one more pass, but no other takers there.  Decided to make one more stop on the way back just south of metro beach and check out some holding areas from last year.  Found a rockie, a few shorts, a two pounder, and get this - a LM over 5.  Got him in and hew was well off the bump board, with a nice gut on him already.  What a way to end the day.  maybe 16 + lbs, not stellar, but fun to have a SM and LM both over 5 on the same tube.  Thanx Wayne!

anybody have a report?  lets hear em!
