I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

A buddy of mine ripped the head off his trolling motor today. He says he heard of a guy in Kingsley MI that repairs them. Anybody heard or dealt with him? Where do you take yours to get fixed. I know that this thread has filtered through before, but I didn't write any names or numbers down.

Thanks

John and his wife run it out of their house.  He is top notch.

He boasts a 24 hour turn around on his work.  I've heard of him fixing things while you wait too.

Thanks, it's a long drive from the west side, but sometimes that turn around is worth it.

Hey dan,
Ship the motor,  UPS ground will only run you about $15-20 each way which is way cheaper than gas.  They say 3-5 days, but when its within michigan it's usually 1-2 days.

Call D and R Sports in kalamazoo, they have most minn kota parts in stock. they could probably ship it out to you.

Thanks guys. I guess my buddy talked to some guys from the Traverse City area today and they told him about a guy in Kingsley that they use. I'll let you know when and if my friend gets in touch with this guy. I put the addresses from the various Minn Kota repair shops on the west side in my daily blog on the teardropbass.com website.

The guy in Kingsley took care of my MK without a problem.  He actually took care of it while I waited.  I did call ahead so he could order parts.  Just my 2 cents.

Dan

Do you have a name, number, or address from  the Kingsley guy?

The shop is called Trolling Motor Repair and the number is 231-263-5998, and he's very good.

Go to www.minnkotamotors.com and click on "service" for the listing of Authorized Service Centers.

Dan

I did go to the Minn Kota site earlier, but I must not have used the right zip. Got all the ones down here in the sw side but not the Kingsley number. Called my friend who has contacted them already about fixing his motor and he said the number is for a laundry mat and they also use it as the trolling motor spot so if you call don't be thrown off.
