Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

I've had my nose buried a lot lately, so I didn't see the notice that apparently Pure Fishing finally really did get bought by someone - Jarden Corp. Don't believe I know anything about them. I see this now after getting a copy of the BassFan.com article sent to me saying that Jarden Corp has now also bought K2.

From BassFan:
Shakespeare/Pflueger sold 4/25/2007

Jarden Corp. today announced that is has signed a definitive merger agreement to acquire K2, including its Shakespeare, Pflueger, All Star, Cajun, Penn, Stearns, and X-Tools brands.

The news came 15 days after Jarden announced it would acquire Pure Fishing. K2's primary business lines will fall under the newly created Jarden Outdoors Solutions segment.

According to reports through Reuters, the total enterprise value of the K2 deal is about $1.2 billion. The deal is expected to close during the 3rd quarter of 2007.

Jarden chairman and CEO Martin E. Franklin said: "We're enormously excited about today's announcement as it marks another important step in our planned and disciplined growth strategy as a world-class, diversified, niche-oriented consumer products company...full article on BassFan.com

I would think since the line manufacturing plants are separate and extensive for both companies that they may continue to produce the brands separately but it is possible they might consolidate. So many products have and are no longer produced by the same people at the same location.

When I find out things like plant and process changes, I try to make a not of it. I do know you can get a good mono line - Shakespeare Supreme (Super Smooth and Super Tough) at a number of stores for cheap prices because they have not caught with consumers, so stores are putting them in bargain bins.
