Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

Hello folks      ;D

One of our new members is open to give a 15 - 20 minute morning seminar on a very cheap and easy way to upgrade your fish quality. Mike Moran is joining us, and fishes FLW. He has LSC and inland lake touch up and paint techniques.

Tom - If you are open to it, he is willing to give us time. Also he is available to help lead us May 12 or June 9 on LSC or May 26 on Kent Lake.

Your thoughts guys ?   ::)

I'm only one voice in the club, but I'm open to just about anything.  Keep in mind that we don't have a "president" in the club, so it's whatever the majority wants to do.

That brings up another good idea though.  We should do some soft plastic pouring one night and have someone teach us how.  I'm planning on buying the stuff to make stick baits very soon and getting into it.

Re: Mike Moran
May 12 is the DK open.  That's actually a tournament, so that date won't work.  But if knows Kent very well and wants to help with a D.O.L. style event on May 26, that might work out as long as the rest of the guys are up for it.  Or, we can just keep that day casual since it's a holiday and just fun fish with Mike joining us and maybe offering up some advice as the day goes along.  Personally, I'm excited to learn something from him.  Can't wait for spring to have sprung!

A "day on the lake" might not be a bad idea for the 26th especially if anyone is planning on fishing the Kent Lake open on the 27th. Just a thought.

I like the idea of having a plastic pouring night, I too have been pondering purchasing the stuff.

I also like the idea of a seminar on modifying baits, anything to help put more fish in the boat is good with me.

My purposes for joining are:

Have fun
Meet and hang out with a group of fanatics ( i mean fellow fisherman)
Learn more about fishing.
Learn more about various lakes.

To that end, anytime anybody that knows more than I wishes to share their expertise, I'm ready, willing, and able to listen and learn.

Kent Lake has always thrown me for a loop, so anybody that has caught more than two fish in it knows more about that lake than I do.
I'd be more than glad to do a day on the lake.

So much water.  So many lures.  So little time.

Mike,
Why don't you go ahead and invite Mike Moran to fish with us on the 26th as a DOL event.  Let us know what he says.  Better yet, how about inviting him to participate on our board?
